We took 20 fifth year boys and 3 teachers on a school trip. An absolutely amazing trip, one that the students in particular will remember for the rest of their lives. All of this made possible and easy (apart from the walking) by the organisational ability and clear communication from Juan. Any minor issues that arose were dealt with immediately. Any blisters that needed tending to were taken care of so professionally. You can tell also from the people in the hotels and restaurants that they are very happy to be working with him and excellent service is the result. An incredible tour guide, and a complete gentleman.

Right from booking through to the end of my trip ‘Crossing Galicia’, I found Raquel and Juan from CaminoByTheWay extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. Their competency and professionalism ensured that all went smoothly for me. As a solo traveller I never felt alone with 24/7 mobile support. This was invaluable, for example I needed walking poles, within a short period of time they appeared at my hotel. I was met in person at The Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, a thoughtful and kind gesture. No delays with taxis or luggage transfer. Lovely hotels with a nice breakfast ensured a positive start each day. Crossing Galicia was a wonderful experience, good for mind, body and soul. A beautiful and unspoilt landscape with fantastic people. I highly recommend this trip.

From start to finish CaminoByTheWay surpassed expectations, every detail was meticulously managed without a second of drama. The knowledge, support and kindness of Juan and Donal is more than words can describe. I had completed a Camino stage with my family previously and the difference of being part of a Guided Tour was crazy – the written daily plan, constant clear communication, 2 guides, the blister clinic, the 24/7 support, the way they integrated with the group, knew every name and were professional every step of the way. We had a great time ! Really enjoyed it from start to finish. The accommodation from my point of view was good.
We really enjoyed our night with LoLo in Fogar de Lecer…
He was great craic and he organized pizza and plenty of wine for us that evening as we didn’t want to stir as it was our longest days walking.

Juan was a great help throughout the trip with his tips for bars/restaurants…all were great choices…

Just to let you know that we made it!!

It was a great experience and we took our time so that my mother and sister-in-law also were able to complete the 117km and get their compestela! We were very lucky with the weather as it was dry most days except the afternoon of the 28km day!

Juan’s daily contact with us was a great with suggestions of lunch and dinner and his encouragement and support really helped us to achieve our goal.
